Current Situation in Banaue, Ifugao

BANAUE, Ifugao-The mudslides and flash floods that recently hit Banaue has affected 1,052 families from the nine barangays of the municipality.

There are also six injured individuals who were given first aid treatment.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that there are three totally damaged and 1,044 partially damaged dwellings with an estimated cost of P5,310,000 in barangays Amganad, Bocos, Gohang, Poblacion, Poitan, San Fernando, Uhaj, Tam-an, and Viewpoint.

There are also 45 establishments affected in barangays Amganad and Poblacion.

An estimated cost of P48,832,000.00 of affected agricultural crops was also reported such as Rice, High-Value Crops, Livestock, Poultry, and Fishery.

On damaged properties, there are 28 totally damaged and seven partially damaged motorcycles, tricycles, and vehicles/cars.

Meanwhile, a composite team from Nueva Vizcaya consisting of personnel from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management office led by Robert Corpus and Philippine Red Cross was also dispatched in Banaue town to help in the clearing operations. Governor Carlos M. Padilla approved the deployment to augment the existing manpower.#
